Textar, the premium brand for braking technology from TMD Friction, has introduced a new brake fluid called "DOT5.1 Ultimate" for the independent aftermarket. The optimized formula is designed to offer consistent braking performance even under extreme conditions.
According to Stephan Giesecke, Global Category Manager PC at TMD Friction, DOT5.1 Ultimate is tailored to meet the increasing demands
of modern vehicles. In addition to traditional applications, the fluid is particularly suitable for driver assistance systems such as ESP and ABS with traction control, where precise control commands need to be transmitted to the brakes without delay.
"DOT5.1 Ultimate" can be used for a wide range of vehicles – from cars and light commercial vehicles to
electric and hybrid vehicles with high weight, as well as high-performance vehicles with particularly short braking response times. Due to its low viscosity and high thermal load capacity, the brake fluid is particularly suitable for vehicles frequently operating under full load or towing, as well as models used in mountainous regions.
Low Viscosity Even at Low Temperatures
The product has a dry boiling point of at least 260 °C and a wet boiling point from 180 °C. The low viscosity even at low temperatures meets the requirements of ISO 4925 Classes 6 and 7. Low electrical conductivity reduces galvanic corrosion, while additional corrosion protection and good lubricating properties are intended to increase the lifespan
