No switching between different portals, no duplicate invoices, and no additional hardware – that's what Krone and Platform Science promise with a fully integrated trailer telematics solution.

The two companies have decided on a Europe-wide strategic partnership. Transport and logistics companies will thus have a uniform application available for tractors and trailers.

There is also talk of significant relief in workload, cost savings, and time savings. The trailer telematics solution will be presented for the first time at Transport Logistic in Munich (June 2-5, 2025).

"Our goal is to integrate tractor and trailer. With Krone, we are now overcoming

the last hurdle and making the use of a telematics solution for the entire semi-trailer as simple as never before," says Lutz Siegert, Country Manager DACH & CEE at Platform Science.

According to Maximilian Birle, Head of Telematics & Digital Services at Krone, the aim of the whole initiative is a seamlessly integrated trailer. A solution would be created that is ready for use immediately upon delivery and fully visible in the customer's system.

This relieves the IT departments. According to the report, transport and logistics companies have three service packages to choose from.

Three Service Packages

The basic

package includes GPS tracking and tracing. The premium package is also expected to include the data from the electronic braking system (EBS), the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and the door sensors.

And the premium "Cool" package additionally includes full cold chain integration with temperature data and sensors, it is stated.

Direct Transmission to TMS

The activation takes place automatically upon the delivery of the trailer. Without further setup, approval, or contract negotiations, all data should be directly transferred into the Transport Management System (TMS) and visible in the Platform Science environment.

The solution is thus ready for use

immediately; for any questions or concerns, one only needs to contact a single point of contact.

The telematics solution from Platform Science is reportedly manufacturer-independent and open, also suitable for large fleets with mixed vehicles. It is also possible to retrofit older trailers and connect solar units.

Long-term Cooperation Planned

A long-term collaboration is aimed at focusing on comprehensive integration, digitization of fleets, and easy scalability for international fleet operators, the cooperation partners announced.

The trailer telematics solution will be demonstrated live at Krone's booths in Hall A6, Stand 201/302, as well as Platform Science's in Hall B1, Stand
