The Hamburg-based startup Omoqo began in September 2025 its first commercial development partnership with Cargo-Terminal Lehmann in the Port of Lübeck. According to the company, the terminal is now operating with the new terminal operating system. Omoqo is part of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG.

Alexander Berg, head of operations at Cargo-Terminal Lehmann: “We were looking for a solution that does not require a massive system overhaul, but still delivers real operational advantages. With TOM we could improve transparency and reduce manual

effort without disrupting our day-to-day operations.”

Software for operational processes

According to the startup, the system digitizes central operational processes. The cloud-based and modular Terminal Operating System, TOM for short, was developed in close coordination with terminal operators. The modules are intended primarily to simplify the operation of small and medium-sized terminals and, according to the company, offer the possibility to gradually digitize and scale processes.

Deployment in container handling

The terminal in Lübeck specializes in container handling and uses the software

to map concrete functions in day-to-day operations. According to the company, the rollout was completed within eight weeks. Training and onboarding had only marginally affected ongoing operations. Early results showed measurable improvements in data quality and in the transparency of the workflows. The aim is to gradually replace manual activities and a multitude of individual tools with the TOM modules.

Further development together with partners

Omoqo emphasizes that the solution differs in philosophy and implementation from conventional terminal systems. Through rapid deployment,

terminals could benefit from digitization regardless of their size without large upfront investments. The company announces that it will involve additional development partners and expand TOM's functionality based on feedback from practical use.

Background on the company

Omoqo was founded in 2022. The young technology company develops, according to its own statements, software solutions together with the industry to help logistics companies simplify their processes and make processes less complex. In doing so, the startup intends to draw on experience in port
