For storage of seasonal collections with high turnover, B&Q, a DIY retailer in the style of a department store, in Doncaster (United Kingdom) required a high-density infrastructure. After evaluating several options, the company chose the AR PAL system from AR Racking, which enables rapid access and whose structure can be adapted to CHEP pallets measuring 1,200 by 1,000 millimeters and, in the second phase, to loading
units with larger volumes. Sprinklers integrated into the shelves are intended to ensure the protection of goods and employees.
AR Racking has completed the installation of the AR PAL system at B&Q's new warehouse in Doncaster. The company now has 24,200 pallet storage locations on an area of 40,000 square meters. The system is designed to handle demand peaks and to accelerate the flow of goods
to the individual stores of the chain.
Thanks to the new installation, B&Q has multiplied its storage capacity and optimizes order preparation for peak periods, with internal transport routes and loading times shortened. The multi-phase project design also allows the warehouse to remain operational during future expansions or structural adjustments. This strengthens the logistical resilience of the DIY chain.

This helped us to process orders even more smoothly and efficiently.”
