Even after 20 years of joint projects, Hella Gutmann Solutions GmbH and ADAC e.V. want to continue along the same paths. The diagnostic technology specialist will gradually equip all roadside-assistance vehicles of the automobile club with new multi-brand diagnostic devices of the type “mega macs X.” In total, 1,800 devices are to be delivered.
AI-assisted diagnosis for the “mega macs X” from Hella Gutmann
The “mega macs X” from Hella Gutmann is suitable for
both cars and motorcycles. Using modern protocols, it can also process large amounts of data from new vehicle generations wirelessly. To better identify defective components, all necessary diagnostic steps can be carried out automatically with the AI-assisted “Automatic Diagnosis” function. A “Cyber Security Management” (CSM) enables the “mega macs X” to unlock manufacturer-specific security locks on 22 car brands.
The “mega macs X” has been linked by ADAC diagnostic specialists with the in-house system.
Through this seamless integration it is possible on-site on the tablet not only to generate diagnoses but also to create and print reports for the motorist in need of assistance. This should make roadside assistance faster and more efficient. An important aspect in choosing a provider is compliance with data protection standards – the device, therefore, according to Hella Gutmann, exclusively accesses European servers.
Hella and the ADAC — partners since 2003
The integration
of the “mega macs X” into the vehicle fleet is already the third contract entrusted by the ADAC to Hella Gutmann since 2003. At that time, the automobile club invested in a novel PC- and diagnostic solution for the “Yellow Angels” and their partners. In 2022 followed the telematics project “ADAC Smart Connect.” This service for digital roadside assistance uses a diagnostic plug and a smartphone app to read vehicle data.
