Originally, Karin Dohm was intended to be the CFO in the independently operating Automotive section of Continental starting in the fall of 2025. However, Dohm has decided for personal reasons not to take up the position at Aumovio. Until a new CFO is appointed, Philipp von Hirschheydt, a board member of the current Automotive division, will be temporarily assigned.
Just about a month ago, the Hanover-based corporation announced at the auto show in Shanghai that it would spin off one of its company's
three core divisions - the automotive supplier division "Automotive" - and allow it to operate independently under the name Aumovio starting in the fall. The second division, "ContiTech," will also be released into independence: they want to focus unhindered on the core business "tires," as stated in a press release sent shortly afterwards about the restructuring.
According to the report, the appointed CFO has "with great regret, for personal reasons," been compelled to step back from her intended duties at Aumovio. The supervisory
board has immediately commenced the search for a successor. The new appointment will not have any delaying effect on the spinoff of the Automotive division planned for the fall of 2025.
Philipp von Hirschheydt, who has been a board member of the division set to spin off since May 2023, will now take over the duties of the CFO on an interim basis. Stefan E. Buchner, currently a member of the Continental supervisory board and designated chairman of the Aumovio SE supervisory board,
is quoted as saying:
“We deeply regret her decision, while at the same time having the utmost understanding and respect for her stance. Together with our strong team, we will continue the path we have begun and lead Aumovio into the future with responsibility and foresight.”
The planned stock market launch of Aumovio in September 2025 remains unchanged. In order to ensure a seamless spinoff of the Automotive division, further experienced experts in finance and controlling will also be employed, as Continental assures.
