Rohrmax is headquartered in Vienna and, according to its own statements, is one of the leading companies in sewer rehabilitation and pipe cleaning. With its 24/7 service, the expert is available to assist customers around the clock with drainage and sewer system problems. The fleet of the company, which has around 500 employees and a 45-year history, includes approximately 290 vehicles – including cars for sales and management, but of course also large commercial vehicles for sewer cleaning. To organize its operations more economically, the company uses the fleet management software from the expert Webfleet, which developed its first fleet management system in Leipzig in 1999 and has belonged to the Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone for six years. Today, fleet managers worldwide in 180 countries use the "market-leading solutions" for data-driven mobility, according to their own statements.

Proven Expertise

The concept apparently also convinced the pipe cleaning specialist from Austria. According to the report, the decision for Webfleet was not only interested in improved performance and cost efficiency but also placed importance on reliable

support.

With fleet management, the company can keep an eye on its entire fleet across Austria in real-time and is always data-informed about the location and condition. In addition to the main location in Vienna, the vehicles are distributed across nine other bases, especially in the eastern half of the country and up to Salzburg, to help with disposal and drainage problems. The service portfolio also includes leak testing and ventilation cleaning. Robert Bele, managing director at RohrMax, reports his impression:

"All the requirements necessary for efficient fleet operations are met. This brings us enormous security in deployment planning and also saves time and costs. As the responsible manager, I now have support exactly when I need it, and I feel well-assisted."

Legally Secure Documentation

Among the most important functions for fleet management at Rohrmax are the readability of mileage for leased vehicles and mileage readings through reports. This control option should prevent drivers from exceeding agreed mileage limits. However, precise data control of all vehicle-relevant parameters can also trigger a change in driving

behavior. For instance, monitoring fuel consumption serves to gain insight into the driving behavior within the vehicle group – with the management system, differences can be quickly identified. Bele:

"There are drivers who drive more fuel-efficiently, and others do not. With the collection of comparable data, the latter change their driving behavior and drive more fuel-efficiently. This not only brings cost savings but also CO2 savings."

Importantly, if customer complaints arise, data collection over past deployments or the "historical data record" is essential. For example, an extract from the GPS tracking can show how long someone really was active with a customer – without evidence, in the past, at least in isolated cases, shorter times were billed as a gesture of goodwill. "Now we have legally secure documentation to avoid such discussions."

Almost Automated

Real-time location determination, in turn, can be of important service, especially in staff deployment planning. Bele: "Only if you know where our vehicles are currently traveling can you plan the assignments efficiently." With this function, cumbersome and time-consuming calls about

the vehicle's whereabouts are unnecessary – because the fleet manager can see with one glance on the screen how to plan the next assignment.

Plan Appointments Early

For all companies and also for RohrMax, it becomes difficult when the basis of the business fails due to damage. Here, too, the software is much quicker with its online accessible maintenance status compared to human damage reporting. Bele states:

"If you only arrange a workshop appointment when employees forward a warning message, it results in vehicle breakdowns and follow-up problems in deployment planning. With a real-time display of maintenance or repairs, this problem is resolved."

According to its own information, currently more than 50,000 companies worldwide use Webfleet's fleet management solution. In Germany, the company cooperates, for example, with Trailer manufacturer Krone and Technology Group Bosch. As a provider of data-driven management, Webfleet also supports AI-powered functions that are considered drivers of transformation in the mobility world. The company stated in a statement at the beginning of this year that it believes artificial intelligence will be
