The manufacturer Tunap presents its new "microflex 935 piston ring cleaner". With this product, the manufacturer aims to sustainably extend the life of the piston rings and protect the engine from subsequent damage. The cleaner is intended to remove deposits and free stuck piston rings. All this should be possible without removing the piston itself. Compared with replacing parts, the cleaning saves material and CO2.
The piston ring ensures that engine oil does not enter the combustion chamber, and at the same time
provides good lubrication of the pistons. However, different fuel qualities and driving profiles over time lead to deposits, especially in the area of the oil scraper ring and the ring grooves. As a consequence, the piston rings can no longer wipe the engine oil cleanly. The oil thus enters the combustion chamber, burns there, and leaves additional residues. The effects can include increased consumption of fuel and oil, compression loss, and a reduction in engine power.

Tunap, explains the mechanism of the new cleaning technology: "Especially for engines with high oil consumption, unclear performance issues, or planned maintenance, the use of "microflex 935" is appropriate. Through targeted cleaning of the ring grooves, stuck piston rings are made operable again. This normalizes the oil flow. Compression and engine power improve again – with a positive effect on oil and fuel consumption."
Application of „microflex 935“
The application is performed by an auto repair shop through the spark plug openings in
the engine. With a probe, the "microflex 935" piston ring cleaner is sprayed into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. This process must be repeated twice. The loosened deposits are carried away via the engine oil. Therefore, the engine oil must be changed afterwards. The "microflex 935" piston ring cleaner is available in the form of a 400-ml aerosol can. A packaging unit consists of nine cans with a probe. For a cleaning process, according to the manufacturer, one can is sufficient.
