The intralogistics specialist Hyster has expanded its "XTLG" range with new electric forklifts with load capacities of four to seven tons. The models "J4.0-7.0XTLG" are equipped with integrated lithium-ion batteries and designed for use both indoors and outdoors.

The vehicles build on the predecessor series "J2.0-3.5XTLG" and are suitable for a variety of industries, including timber, paper, and construction materials

trade as well as metal processing. The forklifts combine the design features of Hyster's internal-combustion models with an emissions-free drive system that replaces an internal combustion engine with a permanent-magnet-excited electric motor. Permanent-magnet-excited means that in the electric motor permanent magnets are used to build up the magnetic field in the rotor, rather than generating a magnetic field via a

winding.

Thanks to the liquid-cooled battery system and the intelligent motor control, the forklifts are intended to achieve similar driving and climbing capabilities as diesel-powered models, while maintaining lower noise levels and reduced vibrations. The lithium-ion battery enables fast charging, low maintenance, and zero emissions. For uneven surfaces and changing weather conditions, the forklifts come as standard with large superelastic

tires. Depending on the model, twin tires and weatherproof cabins can also be used.

Hyster emphasizes that the new electric forklifts can contribute in particular to reducing energy and service costs as well as improving the CO₂ balance in companies. The models are distributed through Hyster's global dealer network and are intended to be supported wherever demanding applications are required.
