During a visit to the new showroom of MAHA Maschinenbau Haldenwang GmbH & Co. KG, representatives of the Rauch Family Foundation and the charitable Rauch Foundation discussed current developments of the company. The focus was on the autonomous inspection robot “MAIA,” which is conceived as a technological expansion for use in workshops and testing centers.
AI-powered inspection robot MAIA autonomously handles measurement and inspection tasks
MAIA (MAHA Autonomous Inspection Assistant) is an AI-powered inspection robot that will in the future autonomously
recognize vehicle positions and take over a range of standardized measurement and inspection tasks. These include, among other things, light tests, measurements, radar checks, and the calibration of driver-assistance systems. Equipped with a six-axis robotic arm and a precision sensor head, the system combines 2D and 3D camera technology to perform reproducible measurement processes.
The product presentation took place as part of a live demonstration. In the ensuing discussion, questions were raised regarding the company's future direction as well as the
role of automated testing processes in the transformation of the automotive market.
