Repair and maintenance measures on large vehicles such as trucks or buses expand the required equipment with climbing ladders or work platforms, which must meet high safety requirements. The Alsfeld climbing technology specialist Krause has 125 years of experience in finding practical special solutions for both professional and private sectors. A memorable testimony to the product range suitable for workshops is provided by the comprehensive catalog, 260 pages strong, available for download from the website. Recently, a special solution was created for a customer, as reported by Krause.

Special Fabrications Are Becoming More Important

With their developments, Krause experts always try to combine safe,

ergonomic, and flexible features. In doing so, the company reports that increasingly customized solutions have come into focus, as "specific heights, vehicle contours, or changing locations" need to be considered. Corresponding system solutions can then be individually configured. The latest example in this direction is a mobile platform staircase for loading and unloading trucks.

For the provider of aluminum systems Hydro Building Systems Germany, Krause developed this mobile platform staircase, which allows convenient loading and unloading of trucks when no stationary loading ramp is available.

The setup includes an integrated swing gate, through which forklifts can safely bring goods onto or take them from

the platform. The grid step treads prevent slipping, and to further ensure safety, the staircase ascent is ergonomically equipped with railings on both sides. Independent movement is prevented by a central brake. The platform can be flexibly and continuously adjusted to different heights with a battery-operated lifting function controlled from the ground or directly from the platform.

According to their own information, Krause develops precisely tailored, height-adjustable platforms for all kinds of challenges regarding vehicle accessibility. They feature non-slip surfaces, generous work areas, and impact protection systems for the vehicle itself. These can be designed for one or multiple persons.

Other solutions are, for

example, specifically developed for requirements related to the Windshield Replacement: mobile, accessible in two height levels, and with space for two people and tools. Solutions from the Hessian climbing technology expert are also used in the municipal sector. Other platform stairs are offered for standardized applications at fixed working heights. And specifically for routine operations in winter, such as removing ice and snow from vehicle roofs, the company has developed its ice-free scaffold system—secured with surrounding railings and also suitable for year-round use in cleaning, inspection, maintenance. The company also passes on its many years of experience through inspection of work equipment and training.
