Bridgestone's fleet management solution Webfleet is entering into a new partnership with RIO, a sister company of MAN. The partnership enables trucks and buses to be introduced for the first time into Webfleet's fleet management solution “OEM.connect.” This expands its features to heavy-duty vehicles. This collaboration makes it possible to connect MAN vehicles with factory-installed telematics directly from the RIO platform to the Webfleet platform. This process avoids the installation of additional hardware, as one can immediately access the commercial vehicle data.
Operators can, with this new extension, access a range of functions, including real-time tracking, ignition-status monitoring, odometer, fuel level and consumption, and speed information. According to Webfleet, more than 20 vehicle brands are now part of the OEM.connect network, which is expected to continue to grow.
RIO and OEM.connect
RIO is an open, cloud-based logistics platform for the transport and logistics industry. It provides a central digital place to capture and process vehicle data. The platform is manufacturer-independent and enables real-time information
exchange. Additionally, it offers digital services and partner solutions for telematics, transport management, and driver communication. OEM.connect is a fleet-management solution that enables real-time vehicle tracking and diagnostics by extracting data from the integrated telematics hardware of vehicle manufacturers.

To create secure information exchange in the mobility sector, Webfleet collaborates with the European data marketplace Mobility Data Space. The goal is to standardize data formats among OEMs. From September 2025, European fleets will be able to activate their MAN vehicles online.
