The Pneuhage Group has expanded its Interpneu truck tire warehouse at the Hainichen site. By developing a neighboring property with a 10,000 square meter roof, the storage capacities are now increasing from 50,000 to 80,000 tires for trucks, buses, and trailers. The wholesaler claims this is in response to the steadily growing range and increased demand for exclusive brands like Westlake.
Since relocating from Nossen to Hainichen in 2017, the site in a conveniently located area on the A4 between Chemnitz and Dresden has proved to be logistically advantageous. The decision to expand was made as early as 2023, to better represent
the increasing product variety and ensure high availability. Through Interpneu, Pneuhage today supplies not only around 160 of its own locations but also more than 1,000 partners and breakdown service bases across Europe—sometimes within 24 hours.
Strengthening the Wholesale Business with Commercial Vehicle Tires
At the official inauguration of the new area on May 19, representatives from the city, district, and state parliament praised the investment as a significant boost for the economic development of Hainichen. For the company, the expansion also means further strengthening of the wholesale business with commercial vehicle tires—a segment with growing strategic importance.
As early as 2021,
synergies between purchasing, sales, and logistics in the commercial vehicle sector were consolidated. Since then, the Commercial Product Group Management has centrally coordinated the procurement and marketing of tires for trucks, buses, agricultural and construction machinery, as well as industrial trucks. The corresponding specialist advisory team is also based in Hainichen.
Retreading is Part of the Corporate Strategy
While Hainichen has developed into the logistical hub for commercial vehicle tires, the Nossen site remains active with a focus on the retreading of truck tires and special tires for agricultural, earthmoving, and industrial applications. The return of used tires for retreading is part
of the corporate group's sustainable marketing strategy.
