The Berner Group is launching a new universal cleaner for automotive parts cleaning with the 'Degreaser Pro'. The manufacturer aims to offer a sustainable alternative to other cleaning products. The cleaner is designed to remove dried-in oil, grease or resin residues without damaging plastics, paints or seals.

As part of Berner's 'Responsible' line, the product is equipped with the 'Eco

Protect' label. The label indicates that the cleaner avoids microplastics as well as D-Limonene and other aggressive solvents. D-Limonene is a plant-based ingredient found in many citrus fruits. It is used as a fragrance and aroma substance. In industry, it serves as a natural solvent. The substance is a known allergen.

Furthermore, the formulation of Degreaser Pro contains no acetone

or n-hexane. Both substances are considered harmful to health and highly flammable. Through the NSF-K1 certification of the cleaner, it can also be used in food-contact environments. Additionally, the product is readily biodegradable according to OECD and does not require an environmental hazard symbol ('Dead Fish' label) under CLP Regulation. The Degreaser Pro also has a higher flash point of

the cleaning liquid and is thus less flammable.

The product engineers of Berner have developed the cleaning solution as part of a partner project with the CCS Group in their own research laboratory in Duisburg. According to the manufacturer, the formulation was researched in collaboration with test customers who provided feedback on the performance of Degreaser Pro. (Source: Berner Group,
