From September 23 to 25, 2025, FACHPACK 2025 will take place on the exhibition grounds in Nuremberg – the leading trade fair for innovative packaging solutions, modern technology and efficient processes. As the organizer of the showcase, NürnbergMesse, announced at the end of August, around 1,400 exhibitors on site will showcase solutions in the areas of packaging materials, packaging goods, packaging aids, packaging machines and packaging technology. The associated processes around automation, labeling technology, packaging printing, finishing up to intralogistics are also to be experienced in the Franconian metropolis.

FACHPACK stands this year once again under the lead theme "Transition In Packaging", which according to the organizer describes the ongoing transformation in the industry and is reflected in the eleven exhibition halls as well as in the FACHPACK program. Visitors from the consumer and industrial goods industries can look forward to an extensive lecture program in the forums PACKBOX, INNOVATIONBOX and SOLPACK 6.0 as well as special displays and award ceremonies. Phuong Anh Do, Director FACHPACK at NürnbergMesse, says:

"We are now on the home stretch toward FACHPACK 2025. Preparations are in full swing and everything is coming together. Nürnberg will soon again become the melting pot of the European packaging industry. I warmly invite all packaging experts at the end of September to FACHPACK in the exhibition center: We shape the future – join in!" "54 percent of exhibitors come from the strong DACH economic region, the other companies from all of Europe," Do continues.

About 60 percent of the exhibitors are in the field of packaging, i.e., packaging materials, packaging goods and packaging aids. About 40 percent cover the area of packaging technology, i.e., packaging machines, labeling technology and automation. The segments packaging printing and finishing as well as internal logistics are also presented at FACHPACK.

"Ideas are not only presented at FACHPACK, but actively developed further. It is about more than just showing innovations. It is about collaborating, exchanging ideas and developing concrete solutions," explains Do.

According to NürnbergMesse, the trade fair will again in 2025

map exciting developments along the entire process chain – from sustainable packaging solutions, through raw material innovations to new packaging technologies, automation and digitization.

"These are not just trends. Concrete answers to real requirements are delivered. The packaging industry can really be proud of itself: It responds with impressive speed and innovative power to the most pressing challenges of our time. We see companies developing new solutions with great agility and creativity that have real impact. As the event management of FACHPACK, I experience firsthand how much commitment, know-how and forward-thinking this industry contains. It is exactly this impulse that makes the packaging industry a strong, resilient and future-proof part of the economy," emphasizes Do.

FACHPACK sees itself as a catalyst for the industry. This is evident not only in the product exhibition but also in the lecture program of the three forums PACKBOX (Hall 4), INNOVATIONBOX (Hall 7) and SOLPACK 6.0 (Hall 3), according to the organizer. All three forums address current industry topics, such as the challenges of the PPWR regulations by 2030, climate change, circular economy, digitization and AI, or alternative packaging solutions and new or alternative fiber raw materials.

Join the discussion and listen

In PACKBOX, important partners of the packaging industry shape and moderate the program and invite interested people to listen or participate in the discussion. In INNOVATIONBOX, registered exhibitors present their product innovations and process innovations in short lectures. The program is hosted here by moderator Petra Bindl.

The SOLPACK 6.0 forum is devoted to sustainable packaging solutions and is conducted and moderated by Peter Desiléts, managing director of the packaging design agency Pacoon GmbH. Already on the day before FACHPACK, September 22, Futury GmbH, in cooperation with FACHPACK and EIT Food, brings together for the first time players in the European packaging start-up scene at the FuturePack Summit. The goal: to provide packaging innovators with a powerful platform where they can present their solutions shortly before the official start of FACHPACK 2025. This will close the gap between innovation and market

access. For the second time, the networking event will start.

Meeting point for women packaging experts

WOMEN4PACKAGING for women in the packaging industry on the first trade fair day. It offers industry female professionals the opportunity to network on site, inspire each other and exchange on current topics and trends in the packaging industry. Participants can look forward, among others, to the exchange with Steffanie Rainer, CEO and founder of Reo, and Simone Mosca, managing director of Mosca GmbH.

Also on the first trade fair day, it is again "Curtain up and stage ready!" for the total of 37 winners of the largest European trade fair around packaging, the German Packaging Award. More than 200 submissions from 15 countries were submitted in advance and wanted to be personally examined and evaluated. The German Packaging Award is awarded by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and will be presented in ten categories from 4:30 p.m. in NCC Mitte, Hall Munich. As a premium partner, FACHPACK again awards the special prize for young talents. It honors the best packaging concepts by pupils, trainees and students.

For the packaging talents of tomorrow

The STUDENT DAY on the third trade fair day, September 25, aims to bring together companies and packaging newcomers. At the invitation of FACHPACK and the German Packaging Institute (dvi), numerous students from the German-speaking region meet with professionals from packaging companies and consumer brands in workshops. A lively exchange of ideas on the focus topic sustainability, the building of valuable contacts, and information on the concrete work in the packaging industry are planned. In 2025, within the framework of STUDENT DAY, among other things a FACHPACK trade fair rally and a Meet & Greet will take place.

On all three trade fair days there is also FACHPACK.TV live from the exhibition center. The Packaging Journal moderators Matthias Laux and Jan Malte Andresen report from their "gläsernes Studio" in Hall 4. FACHPACK visitors can be live part of it and see how television is made. FACHPACK.TV will also be accompanied on

the web and social media channels of FACHPACK and packaging journal.

Premiere for a new pavilion

The premiere at FACHPACK 2025 goes to the pavilion "Converting meets Packaging" in Hall 7, seven exhibitors already booked, which FACHPACK is organizing in collaboration with M2N Media, publishers of the trade media PRO Flexconvert and PRO Flextronics. The platform focuses on the close connection between the converting industry and the packaging sector. The aim is to promote communication between converters, packaging machine manufacturers and packaging manufacturers and to identify potentials for improved collaboration. The pavilion particularly offers companies active at the interface of these industries – whether in finishing, coating, printing, laminating, adhesive technology or flexible packaging development – a curated stage to present their products and services in a thematically appropriate product environment and together shape the future of converting and packaging.

For the second time, FACHPACK 2025 features the pavilion "Alternative Packaging Solution." Here, alternative examples to common materials are presented and the view of what could be possible in the future is enabled. In the sold-out pavilion in Hall 3, 14 companies showcase and present among other things grass and leaf paper products, compostable film bags, cushioning material made from grain husks and much more. The SOLPACK 6.0 forum is also part of this pavilion. On all three trade fair days, visitors can expect a diverse program with around 30 lectures here.

If you are looking for fresh, unconventional ideas and products to solve packaging problems, you will also find them this year among the start-ups in the packaging industry in Hall 3. Here, visitors can expect on the one hand the joint stand "Young Innovators" funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy for young, innovative companies. On the other hand, the "Newcomer Pavilion" offers FACHPACK first-time exhibitors or international newcomers in the industry a platform to present themselves and their innovative products or services to the trade audience. Of course, the popular pavilion "Labels & more" in Hall 7 should not be missing at FACHPACK
