The Swiss e-commerce platform Galaxus is taking new approaches to personnel recruitment: As the company announced on September 9, it is organizing so-called Casting Days to find logistics employees for its new distribution center in Neuenburg on the Rhine.
The castings are supposed to work similarly to the TV format "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" – but without television. Singing performances, according to the company, will not be required of applicants either. Submitting a traditional résumé with a cover
letter is also not necessary. Interested parties can register via a form that is available on the online retailer's website.
As a prerequisite for the job, applicants should have basic physical fitness as well as English language skills at A2 level. Potential employees must expect weekly rotating shifts between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. A 32- to 40-hour week is possible. The hourly wage is €15.70 gross according to Galaxus. In addition, benefits such as a money- or
time-budget for training, free parking, and a shuttle service to and from the logistics site would be available.
According to Galaxus, there are already two dates for the Casting Days – one in Freiburg in Germany and one in Mulhouse in France:
- Mulhouse (France): Wednesday, 24 September 2025
- Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany): Friday, 26 September 2025
The castings take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on each date. Further dates are planned. As the company stated, applicants
will receive a confirmation or rejection on the same day.
Already in the autumn of last year, Galaxus announced that it planned to create around 1,000 logistics jobs at the new site. Neuenburg's location directly on the Rhine and near the A5 motorway enables commuting from the entire western part of Southern Baden, from Freiburg to Lörrach, Müllheim, Schopfheim or Bad Krozingen, as well as from Mulhouse in France, which is about 20 minutes by car from Neuenburg.
