From September 23 to 25, 2025, the packaging industry will gather again in Nuremberg at FACHPACK, the European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology, and Processes. According to the NürnbergMesse, preparations are in full swing. Around 1,400 exhibitors are expected, spread across eleven exhibition halls. According to the fair company, 90 percent of the space has already been allocated. In addition to a wealth of products and services around packaging, trade visitors can again expect an exciting program this year. The online ticket shop will open shortly.

The focus of the performance show will be on packaging materials & packaging aids as well as innovative solutions in packaging technology. Both main segments will be complemented by packaging printing and finishing, as well as intralogistics. According to the organizer, the fair is aimed at packaging-intensive industries such as food/beverages, luxury foods, pharmaceuticals/cosmetics, chemicals, healthcare, non-food, pet food, other consumer goods, as well as automotive, technical articles, medical technology, and other industrial goods. Phuong Anh Do, event director of FACHPACK, says:

“In addition to the extensive, forward-looking trade fair, I am particularly looking forward to the lively dialogue on the FACHPACK theme ‘Transition in Packaging’. This exchange is immensely important because the industry is in

upheaval, and sustainable and digital transformation is indispensable. And that is why here in Nuremberg in September, we will once again discuss important industry topics and set impulses on how the opportunities of this transition can be seized and utilized – true to the FACHPACK motto: ‘We make the future’.”

FACHPACK participants can also expect a diverse accompanying program in 2025: In both FACHPACK forums, industry experts will, according to the organizer, provide insights into current challenges, show opportunities and trends as well as concrete strategies, and offer solutions to current topics. In the PACKBOX, forward-looking topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in development and production, strategies for implementing the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR), circular economy models, and international market trends are in focus. Moreover, issues concerning sustainable materials and regulatory developments will be intensely illuminated. In the exhibitor forum INNOVATIONBOX, FACHPACK exhibitors will once again present their product innovations and process innovations in lectures.

Networking meeting for packaging specialists

For the second time, the networking event “Women4Packaging” will take place. The aim is to provide the women of the industry, both exhibitors and trade visitors, with a platform where they can exchange ideas, learn from each other, and empower

each other. This year, the focus will be on doing, with various stations planned for different topics.

Alternative solutions to be seen at the fair

Also back is the Pavilion for Alternative Packaging Solutions in Hall 3, which focuses on innovative packaging materials made from renewable resources and showcases new developments in established packaging materials. FACHPACK is once again cooperating with the agency Pacoon, which will present focus topics on alternative and sustainable packaging solutions in the moderated forum SOLPACK 6.0.

On the third day of the fair, the STUDENT DAY will take place again at FACHPACK in collaboration with the German Packaging Institute (dvi). The aim of the event is the interactive exchange between company representatives and around 100 students from the fields of packaging technology, sustainability, and product design in direct talks and workshops. According to NürnbergMesse, the STUDENT DAY 2024 was already a success. Sidonie Laure Tchouonto, a student at the Stuttgart Media University, says:

“The STUDENT DAY 2024 was a very enriching event for me. I was able to expand my knowledge and make valuable contacts with companies. I particularly enjoyed the exchange with other students. The exchange during the workshop helped me to broaden my thinking. The

interactive elements of the practical exercises made the event even more attractive. I now have a clearer idea of the area in which I would like to work later.”

As in previous years, the joint stand “Young Innovators” supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics will again be part of FACHPACK. There, German start-ups and young companies can introduce themselves to the trade audience and present product innovations. International start-ups with headquarters outside Germany will showcase their novel products and processes to interested packaging specialists in the Newcomer Pavilion.

In halls 9 to 12 of the exhibition center, POWTECH TECHNOPHARM, a trade fair for technologies for processing powders, solids, and liquids in Europe, will take place simultaneously with FACHPACK in 2025. By adding the TECHNOPHARM component, this performance show is also dedicated to the GxP-compliant production of liquid, semi-solid, and solid pharmaceuticals, where solid products play a major role. The fair thus holds solutions for all industries that process powders, granulates, bulk solids, and liquids: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and feed, energy, machinery and plant engineering, plastics and rubber, ceramics and glass, environment and recycling, cosmetics and personal care, construction materials, and earths. With the FACHPACK ticket, visitors also have access to POWTECH
