From 23 to 25 September 2025 the FACHPACK 2025 will take place at the exhibition grounds in Nuremberg – the leading trade fair for innovative packaging solutions, modern technology and efficient processes. As the organizer of the trade fair, NürnbergMesse, stated at the end of August, around 1,400 exhibitors on site show solutions from the areas of packaging materials, packaging components, packaging aids, packaging machines and packaging technology. The related processes around automation, labeling technology, packaging printing, finishing up to intralogistics are also to be experienced in the Franconian metropolis.

The FACHPACK this year is once again under the lead theme “Transition In Packaging,” which according to the organizer describes the currently ongoing transformation in the industry and is reflected in the eleven exhibition halls as well as in the FACHPACK program. Visitors from the consumer and industrial goods industries can look forward to an extensive lecture program in the forums PACKBOX, INNOVATIONBOX and SOLPACK 6.0 as well as special exhibitions and award ceremonies. Phuong Anh Do, Director FACHPACK at NürnbergMesse, says:

“We have now reached the final stretch toward FACHPACK 2025. Preparations are in full swing and everything is coming together. Nuremberg will soon again become the melting pot of the European packaging industry. I warmly invite all packaging experts at the end of September to FACHPACK at the exhibition center: We are shaping the future – join us!” “54 percent of the exhibitors come from the strong DACH economic area, the other companies from all of Europe,” Do continues.

Approximately 60 percent of the exhibitors belong to the packaging area, i.e., packaging materials, packaging components and packaging aids. About 40 percent cover the area of packaging technology, i.e., packaging machines, labeling technology and automation. The segments of packaging printing and finishing as well as internal logistics are also presented at FACHPACK.

“Ideas are not only presented at FACHPACK, but actively developed further. It’s about more than just showing innovations. It’s about working together, exchanging ideas and developing concrete solutions,” explains Do.

According to NürnbergMesse, the trade

show will again in 2025 capture exciting developments along the entire process chain – from sustainable packaging solutions, through raw material innovations to new packaging technologies, automation and digitalization.

“They are not only trends. Concrete answers to real requirements are delivered. The packaging industry can really be proud of itself: it responds with impressive speed and innovative power to the most pressing challenges of our time. We see how companies with great agility and creativity develop new solutions that have real impact. As the event management of FACHPACK, I experience up close how much commitment, know-how and forward-thinking are in this industry. It is precisely this impulse power that makes the packaging industry a strong, resilient and future-proof part of the economy,” emphasizes Do.

FACHPACK positions itself as a driver of impulses for the industry. This is evident not only in the product exhibition but also in the lecture program of the three forums PACKBOX (Hall 4), INNOVATIONBOX (Hall 7) and SOLPACK 6.0 (Hall 3), according to the organizer. All three forums address current industry topics, such as the challenges of the PPWR regulations up to 2030, climate change, circular economy, digitalization and AI or also alternative packaging solutions and new or alternative fiber raw materials.

Contribute to discussions and listen

In the PACKBOX, important partners of the packaging industry shape and moderate the program and invite interested parties to listen or participate in the discussion. In the INNOVATIONBOX, registered exhibitors present their product innovations and process innovations in short presentations. The program is hosted by moderator Petra Bindl.

The SOLPACK 6.0 forum is dedicated to sustainable packaging solutions and is conducted and moderated by Peter Desiléts, managing director of the packaging design agency Pacoon GmbH. Already on the day before FACHPACK, September 22, Futury GmbH, in cooperation with FACHPACK and EIT Food, brings together for the first time players in the European packaging start-up scene at the FuturePack Summit. The goal: to provide packaging innovators with a powerful platform on which they can present their solutions shortly

before the official start of FACHPACK 2025. This is intended to close the gap between innovation and market access. The networking event will kick off for the second time.

Meeting point for female packaging experts

WOMEN4PACKAGING for women in the packaging industry on the first trade day. It offers industry female professionals the opportunity to network on-site, inspire each other and discuss current topics and trends in the packaging industry. Participants can look forward, among others, to exchanges with Steffanie Rainer, CEO and founder of Reo, and Simone Mosca, Managing Director of Mosca GmbH.

Also on the first trade day it’s again “Curtain up and stage free!” for the total of 37 winners of the largest European trade fair around packaging, the German Packaging Award. More than 200 submissions from 15 countries were submitted in advance and wanted to be personally judged and evaluated. The German Packaging Award is awarded by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and in ten categories at 4:30 p.m. in NCC Mitte, Munich Hall. As a premium partner, FACHPACK again awards the special prize for young talents. It honors the best packaging concepts from pupils, trainees and students.

For the packaging Nachwuchs

The STUDENT DAY on the third trade day, 25 September, aims to bring together companies and packaging talent. At the invitation of FACHPACK and the German Packaging Institute (dvi), numerous students from the German-speaking area meet with professionals from packaging companies and brand manufacturers in workshops. A lively exchange of ideas on the focus topic sustainability, the building of valuable contacts, as well as information about the concrete work in the packaging industry are planned. In 2025, as part of STUDENT DAY, a FACHPACK trade fair rally and a meet & greet will take place.

On all three trade fair days, FACHPACK.TV will again be live from the exhibition center. The Packaging Journal moderators Matthias Laux and Jan Malte Andresen report from their “glass studio” in Hall 4. FACHPACK visitors can be there live and see how television is made. FACHPACK.TV is

also accompanied on the web and social media channels of FACHPACK and packaging journal.

Premiere for a new pavilion

Premiere at FACHPACK 2025 is the pavilion “Converting meets Packaging” with seven exhibitors booked in Hall 7, which FACHPACK, in cooperation with M2N Media, publisher of the trade media PRO Flexconvert and PRO Flextronics, is putting together. The platform focuses on the close connection between the converting industry and the packaging industry. The aim is to promote communication between converters, packaging machinery manufacturers and packaging manufacturers and to identify potentials for improved collaboration. The pavilion offers especially companies active at the interface of these industries – whether in finishing, coating, printing, lamination, adhesive technology or flexible packaging development – a curated stage to present their products and services in a thematically relevant and fitting product environment and to jointly shape the future of converting and packaging.

For the second time FACHPACK 2025 features the pavilion “Alternative Packaging Solution.” Here, alternative examples to common materials are presented and the view is opened to what could be possible in the future. In the booked pavilion in Hall 3, 14 companies show and demonstrate among other things grass- and leaf-paper products, compostable film bags, cushioning material made from cereal husks and much more. The SOLPACK 6.0 forum is also part of this pavilion. On all three trade fair days visitors can expect a varied program with about 30 presentations.

Those looking for fresh, unconventional ideas and products to solve packaging questions will also find them this year among the start-ups in the packaging industry in Hall 3. Here visitors can expect on the one hand the jointly funded stand “Young Innovators” for young, innovative companies by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. On the other hand the “Newcomer Pavilion” offers FACHPACK first-time exhibitors or international newcomers in the industry a platform to present themselves and their innovative products or services to the trade community. Of course the popular pavilion “Labels & more” in Hall 7 must not be missing at
