From September 23 to 25, 2025, the FACHPACK, European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes, will take place at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. According to its own information, the organizer of the showcase, NürnbergMesse, expects around 1,400 exhibitors spread across eleven exhibition halls. In a press release dated July 18, the organizer not only announces a wealth of products and services around packaging and a comprehensive supporting program, but also two innovations: the event "FuturePack – The European Packaging Startup Summit" on September 22, 2025, and the new pavilion "Converting meets Packaging" in Hall 7 of FACHPACK.
Phuong Anh Do, event director of the fair, is pleased to welcome part of the packaging industry to Nuremberg already the day before FACHPACK with the format "FuturePack – The European Packaging Startup Summit":
“Our slogan 'We Create Future' represents, among other things, that FACHPACK offers a home to startups and
young innovative companies. With the joint stand 'Young Innovators' and the newcomer area in Hall 3, we are already meeting this expectation. However, we want to focus FACHPACK even more on future and innovations. We are therefore very pleased that the FuturePack Summit is taking place within the framework of FACHPACK.”
For the first time, Futury GmbH, in collaboration with FACHPACK and EIT Food, brings together actors from the European startup scene at the FuturePack Summit. The goal: to provide packaging innovators with a powerful platform where they can present their solutions shortly before the official start of FACHPACK 2025. This aims to bridge the gap between groundbreaking innovation and real market access, according to NürnbergMesse. FuturePack is the place where research-oriented ideas, early-stage companies, and scalable startups meet industry, investors, and decision-makers.
According to the organizer, summit participants can look forward to energetic startup pitches, expert panels, keynotes
from industry pioneers, and a lively atmosphere where groundbreaking ideas meet real market potential. Participation in the summit is interesting for packaging-related startups, companies, researchers, packaging experts, sustainability experts, investors, and anyone committed to promoting the circular economy and sustainable innovation in the packaging industry.
For young companies in all stages
FuturePack takes a strategic look at how packaging innovations get from research to market with contributions from science, startups, and industry. Participants can expect over 25 startup presentations, divided into three blocks: innovation from research (early-stage technologies and potential spin-offs from universities), early-stage innovation (startups from the EIT Food ecosystem), and later-stage innovation (market-ready solutions for real challenges).
Phuong Anh Do adds: “As part of the event, the best three startups will be selected live on site. The winners will have the chance to present their packaging innovations on the first day of FACHPACK in the INNOVATIONBOX forum
and discuss them directly with industry partners.”
The FuturePack Summit takes place on Monday, September 22, at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, NCC Mitte, Brussels Hall.
The newly booked pavilion “Converting meets Packaging” in Hall 7, organized by the promoter in collaboration with M2N Media, the publisher of the trade media PRO Flexconvert and PRO Flextronics, will also celebrate its premiere at FACHPACK 2025.
“The innovative platform highlights the close connection between the converting industry and the packaging sector. The aim is to promote communication between converters, packaging machine manufacturers, and packaging manufacturers and to identify potential for improved collaboration,” explains Phuong Anh Do.
The pavilion is intended to give companies operating at the interface of these industries — whether in the areas of finishing, coating, printing, lamination, adhesive technology, or flexible packaging material development — a stage to present their products and services in a topic-related and appropriate product
