MilDef, a Swedish manufacturer specializing in military IT solutions, has recently fully aligned its business with the defense sector. The background is the growing demand for particularly resilient technology for security-relevant areas of application. In the civilian sector, the previous product range was not continued.
In this context, the defense portfolio of Handheld was integrated into MilDef's core business. According to the company, Nordalp GmbH
was founded as an independent company by former Handheld employees as a result. Therefore, Nordalp continues to offer tablets, PDAs, as well as individually tailored hardware and software solutions for industrial applications.
The Nordalp team had been working within Handheld Germany GmbH for over 13 years prior to the founding. The focus of the collaboration was in the field of hardware and software development. According
to the company, the company name "Nordalp" is meant to reflect the international composition of the team: "Nord" stands for the origin from Nordic countries, particularly Sweden, "alp" for the connection to southern Germany and Switzerland.
