Expertise and

technological development

The partnership is driven by Otto's Quality and Product Compliance Management (QCM), according to the company. To find an external provider for the implementation of the digital product passport, the department initially worked with the company's own venture client unit, OTTO DOCK 6. The experts made contact with Osapiens after screening the available market solutions and accompanied the process from initiation through the entire setup, Otto stated.

According to the announcement, Otto brings its expertise to the table and defines concrete practical requirements from the area of product compliance in collaboration with the business units. This is intended to ensure that the resulting solution meets the high operational requirements of one of Europe's largest trading companies. Furthermore, OTTO provides real use cases that feed into the development of the solution, it says.

According to the press release, Osapiens is responsible for the technological development.

The company develops cloud-based software solutions: more than 1,800 companies worldwide use the "osapiens HUB" platform, according to the provider, to meet regulatory requirements, reduce supply chain risks, and make processes more efficient. The "osapiens HUB for Product Compliance Management" solution is intended to help companies meet global requirements, integrate supplier information, and automate the entire compliance management process.

Cross-sector solutions as a goal

The co-innovation between Otto and Osapiens pursues a cross-sector approach from the outset, according to the two companies. While the requirements come from Otto's trading environment, the solution is to be designed in such a way that it can be flexibly transferred to other sectors and company sizes. The cooperation partners see possible areas of application in manufacturing, consumer goods, and other industries.

"With Osapiens, we have found a strong partner who combines regulatory expertise with technological implementation strength. Together, we are

implementing solutions for product compliance quickly and practically," says Heiko Bruns, Division Manager Quality and Product Compliance Management at Otto.

"The collaboration shows how regulatory challenges can be turned into opportunities through technology. By combining Otto's expertise with the scalability of the osapiens HUB, we create solutions that not only make companies compliant but also strengthen their innovative power sustainably," says Alberto Zamora, Co-founder and CEO of Osapiens.
