VGP is developing the new "VGP Park Berlin-Bernau" on an area of 141,160 square meters. On the morning of May 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first building took place in Bernau near Berlin in the presence of Jan Van Geet, CEO of VGP, as well as Darius Scheible and Daniel Sigmann, managing directors of VGP Germany, along with Daniel Kurth, district administrator of the Barnim district, and André Stahl, mayor of Bernau, as announced by the owner, operator and developer of logistics and light industrial properties on the same day.

Approximately 70,000 square meters of high-quality rental space for industrial, logistics, and commercial purposes are being created on

the site in Bernau near Berlin, which is expected to create up to 500 jobs. In total, three sustainable halls are planned, offering flexible and high-quality units starting from 1,500 square meters, as well as larger spaces for logistics and light industrial companies. These areas can be individually adapted to the requirements of the companies, even after construction has begun.

The first construction phase with Hall A covers an area of 23,824 square meters and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It is already fully leased to the textile company CNB and the tire wholesaler Best4tires. The second construction phase with Hall B, covering an

area of approximately 19,000 square meters, already has its first tenant: BerVaTek Vertriebsgesellschaft will utilize around 5,000 square meters in the future. Completion is planned for early 2026.

"The development of the VGP Park Berlin-Bernau is a strong signal for the economic dynamism of our region. With the creation of new jobs and the focus on sustainable construction, a future-oriented commercial area is being created here that will further advance Barnim," said Daniel Kurth, district administrator of the Barnim district.

It is planned that the new buildings in Bernau will also meet the defined environmental goals of the EU Taxonomy Regulation. They will be constructed at least according to

the recognized sustainability standard DGNB Gold. Rooftop PV systems and heat pumps will provide renewable energy. Smart metering systems will digitally record electricity consumption. Charging stations for electric vehicles will be available to future employees. To promote the microclimate and biodiversity, green roofs, facade greenery, and ecological compensation areas are planned.

The new "VGP Park Berlin-Bernau" in the northeast of Berlin is the fourth VGP park in Berlin, alongside "VGP Park Berlin-Ludwigsfelde," "VGP Park Berlin-Oberkrämer," and "VGP Park Berlin-Wustermark." It has direct access to the A11 and is eight kilometers from the A10 (Berlin Ring). The city center of Berlin can be reached within 35 minutes by car or
