Garbe Industrial has fully leased a logistics property still under construction in Lüneburg just a few weeks after the topping-out ceremony. The garden furniture manufacturer Garpa will move into the object with a total area of around 20,200 square meters, Garbe announced in a statement on July 10. Garpa, based in Escheburg near Hamburg, will use the building for the storage, assembly, and repair of garden furniture. The lease begins on October 1, 2025.

Via the federal highways 216 and 209, the business park is connected to the A 39. It connects Lüneburg with the Maschen Junction and further via the A 1 and A 7 with Hamburg and other destinations along the two important north-south axes.

"Both the

location and the quality of the property convinced us," says Garpa Managing Director Hauke Petersen. "The new building meets all the prerequisites for further growth."

For this, the garden furniture manufacturer is moving its warehouse from its previous location in Geesthacht to Lüneburg.

"With Garpa, we have won a strong partner for our state-of-the-art property, that fits excellently with the high-quality garden furniture we have developed," said Maik Zeranski, a member of the management board at Garbe Industrial.

The company has specialized in the manufacture and sale of exclusive chairs, armchairs, tables, loungers, and lounge furniture for gardens and terraces for over 45 years. They are manufactured in selected workshops. In Lüneburg, the furniture is to be stored, assembled,

and delivered from there to end customers in Germany and neighboring countries.

The property is being built on a plot of approximately 33,000 square meters in the Gewerbepark Ost, just a few hundred meters from the Lüneburg harbor and the Elbe Lateral Canal. The lease with Garpa includes almost 17,400 square meters of hall space, approximately 2,200 square meters of storage mezzanine, and around 600 square meters of office space. The tenant will install, among other things, a narrow-aisle racking system in the hall.

The new building will be equipped with 17 loading bridges and two ground-level sectional doors for loading and unloading trucks. The outdoor area has spaces for 55 cars and five trucks.

"That we managed to

lease the entire space during the construction phase despite the current economic development makes us proud," said Zeranski. "The successful contract completion speaks for the quality of the property and shows that we made the right decision in choosing the location and deciding to begin construction speculatively."

The investment volume amounts to around 27 million euros.

To generate renewable energy, a photovoltaic system with a total output of around 1.7 megawatts peak will be installed on the roof area. To dispense with the use of fossil fuels, the property will be heated with the help of air-source heat pumps. Garbe Industrial aims for the property to be certified according to the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council
