The OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH celebrated the topping-out ceremony of its logistics project in Gotha/ Emleben on April 28 in the presence of numerous guests. The event marked an intermediate step on the way to the planned completion in September of this year, according to a press release from OFB Projektentwicklung on April 29. The sole tenant of the approximately 21,000-square-meter logistics property is the Nagel-Group, which will use the building from the handover in October 2025.
In addition to District Administrator Onno Eckert and
Mayor Philipp Kalisch, project participants from OFB as well as other representatives of local politics, the Nagel-Group, and the general contractor Max Bögl were invited to the traditional topping-out ceremony, which took place at Am Köpfchen 13 in Emleben.
“The new logistics center in Emleben is a central component of our strategic modernization and sets standards in sustainable and efficient logistics,” said André Pleines, Executive Director Real Estate at the Nagel-Group. “We are very much looking forward to the upcoming move-in and a long-term
partnership with the community of Emleben as well as with OFB.”
The new building is the third location of the Nagel-Group in the district of Gotha and is specifically designed for the storage of temperature-sensitive food. In addition to logistics, office, social, and technical areas, the project features an ideal connection to the traffic network due to its location on the A4, according to the statement.
The property on the approximately 35,000-square-meter site will be realized with consideration of sustainability standards. Planned are DGNB
Gold certification and EU taxonomy-compliant execution. The energy concept includes air-water heat pumps and a photovoltaic system covering about 8,800 square meters on the hall roof, which is expected to save around 870 tons of CO2 annually.
“We are proud that we can once again demonstrate our expertise in the field of sustainable logistics real estate with this project,” said Ralph Holeschovsky, branch manager of OFB in Erfurt. “Gotha/ Emleben receives a state-of-the-art logistics facility that meets the highest environmental standards while also offering
