Delta Development relies on RheinEnergie AG for the heating and cooling supply of the European Distribution Center for Levi Strauss & Co. RheinEnergie – Next Energy Solutions will, as part of an energy contracting arrangement, from summer 2025 for twenty years take over the operation and maintenance of the energy center of the Levi Strauss & Co. European Distribution Center in Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia, it was announced on September 10 in a press release from Delta Development. The facility supplies the approximately 70,000 square meter area year-round and CO2-neutral through a system of
heating and cooling systems with heat and cooling. For this, more than 50 geothermal boreholes were installed, each at a depth of 90 meters.

The fossil-free heating and cooling supply complements the holistic concept of the project, which avoids CO₂ emissions during construction and operation and achieves a positive overall greenhouse gas balance. It was developed according to the cradle-to-cradle principle of the circular economy and also relies on large-scale photovoltaics and a battery storage solution. Moreover, in the field of
logistics real estate, the project aims to establish architectural standards with a distinctive wave-shaped glass façade. Not least, the workplaces in both office and logistics areas are designed according to the WELL standard.
