In the course of July, Wiedmann & Winz will start operations at a newly built logistics center in the intermunicipal industrial and commercial area Laichinger Alb. The additional area of 21,000 square meters will be used for a wide range of logistical requirements – from block and shelf storage to small parts logistics and efficient distribution of various goods, according to a press release from the contract logistics provider on July 3.

As a first anchor

client, Wiedmann & Winz acquired a truck manufacturer, for whom the start-up parts logistics for prototypes in the Powertrain area is being taken over. With 18 dock doors and four ground-level doors, the property is designed for high turnover speed according to the service provider. The storage of water-polluting substances according to WGK 1 to 3 (Water Hazard Classes) is also possible. The warehouse management system is thus compatible with common ERP solutions and suitable for

demanding outsourcing projects.

The location is five kilometers from the A8 motorway and the B28 federal road. Additionally, the Dornstadt container terminal is quickly accessible – a benefit especially for customers with international sea freight connections. According to its own statements, Wiedmann & Winz has many years of experience in the handling and transport of containers and can now utilize this expertise in Laichingen.

In contract logistics, the company serves clients from industry and trade with

individual logistics solutions – from material procurement through production supply to delivery to the end customer. This also includes spare parts logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, promotional goods logistics, and a broad range of value-added services. Wiedmann & Winz has about 400 employees, nine locations domestically and abroad, and over 80,000 square meters of logistics space. In addition to contract logistics, European land transport with a large own vehicle fleet belongs to the core competence of the owner-managed
