The finalists in the competition for the Logix Award 2025 for logistics real estate have been decided. In an online meeting on May 27, the independent jury, led by Prof. Dr. Christian Kille, Professor of Retail Logistics at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS), selected six finalists for the further competition. The jury members discussed in detail the 13 projects on the shortlist, which were previously nominated from a total of 27 submissions—a record number for the Logix Award. The Logix Award is presented every two years by the Logix Initiative to outstanding logistics properties in Germany.

The six finalists chosen by the jury for the Logix Award 2025 are (listed in alphabetical order):

  • Delta Development Group B.V. with a distribution center for Levi Strauss & Co. in Dorsten
  • FPE Asset Management GmbH & Co. KG with the industrial and business park “the tube” in Düsseldorf
  • Group7 AG with their logistics center in Oberding
  • Panattoni Germany Properties GmbH with the logistics center "International Consolidation Center (ICC)" for Mercedes-Benz AG in Bischweier
  • Verdion GmbH with the “Verdion PremierPark” in Ludwigsfelde
  • Weleda AG with the logistics center “Weleda Cradle Campus” in Schwäbisch Gmünd

The

finalists have the opportunity to present their project in a half-hour pitch before the jury during the jury session in July 2025 and answer questions. This step is being implemented for the first time with this year's Logix Award. After the presentations, the jury will deliberate and enter the decision-making process. The winner(s) will be announced at the official award ceremony on October 6 at the EXPO REAL 2025 real estate trade fair in Munich.

“We are again recording a record number of submissions this year. This is both a challenge and a joy for us: Most applications were at a very high level, which makes the selection difficult but overall indicates the progress in the logistics real estate sector,” said jury chairman Prof. Dr. Christian Kille. “Especially regarding ecological and social sustainability, a lot has happened in recent years—even since the last Logix Award.”

To account for the high level, the evaluation and selection procedure for applications for the Logix Award 2025 was further developed. “With the multi-stage evaluation and the live pitch before the jury, we have refined transparency and decision-making. We are excited about the presentations,” said Kille.

Dr. Malte-Maria

Münchow, spokesperson for the Logistics Real Estate Initiative (Logix) and Head of Logistics Strategy at Deka Immobilien Investment, said: “Experts from logistics, media, municipalities, business, and science have gathered in the jury to examine the logistics properties from many perspectives. With the personal presentations of the finalists, they can get an even more accurate picture of the projects. We are very grateful for their thorough and professional work.”

Münchow continued: “We also want to thank all participants for their submissions. The fact that we again received many applications of very high quality confirms both our work in the Logix Initiative and beyond the continuing relevance and attractiveness of the asset class logistics real estate.”
