The new business unit of the packaging machinery manufacturer IMA named IMA E-Commerce has entered into a partnership with the provider of material flow solutions Interroll to develop new solutions for intralogistics automation and packaging. The E-Commerce division can now utilize Interroll's intralogistics conveying technologies. IMA E-Commerce aims to increase the efficiency and precision of its automated packaging solutions in this way, according to a press release from Interroll dated October 30.
The IMA E-Commerce business unit develops automated packaging solutions for
the e-commerce, e-fulfillment, third-party logistics (3PL) and intralogistics markets. The technology offering includes folding machines, sealing machines and integrated systems for customized packaging that are intended to increase operational efficiency, reduce waste and volume, and increase the sustainability of processes. The systems are in use with customers from the pharmaceutical, KEP (courier, express and parcel) and automotive industries, with planned expansion into the food industry.
