The contract logistics provider Simon Hegele, a member of the NX Group ("Nippon Express"), announces a leadership change. Stefan Ulrich will step back from operational business as of September 30, 2025 and will accompany the company in an advisory capacity until the end of the year. His successor as CEO will, as of October 1, 2025, be taken over by the long-standing managing directors of the Simon Hegele Group, Mike Winter and Michael Wahl, jointly as Co-CEOs.
„Exactly ten years after my entry at Simon Hegele and after successfully guiding the acquisition by Nippon Express, I have decided to relinquish the group's operational leadership. The shareholder representatives and I have prepared this day very carefully. I have worked very successfully with Michael Wahl and Mike Winter for ten years. Now is the ideal
moment for handing over to the suitable successors: the commitment of the two colleagues, their competence and their successes in the Simon Hegele Group as top managers speak for themselves, and we are confident that they will further develop the group successfully in this new constellation together with our fantastic team,“ says Stefan Ulrich.
Mike Winter brings, according to Simon Hegele, extensive expertise in the logistics field. He has many years of experience on the OEM side in production logistics and has been active in various functions within the group for 25 years. Since 2014, he has been primarily responsible for the Healthcare EMEA business at Simon Hegele. In this role he managed to triple revenue and will reach the €200 million revenue mark this year. As Co-CEO, Mike Winter will subsequently assume
global responsibility for the Healthcare business of the Simon Hegele Group.
„My goal is to strengthen our position as an international service partner in the area of Large Medical Devices together with my international colleagues and to globally scale in close collaboration with Nippon Express. In doing so, we will continuously expand the comprehensive service portfolio, which goes far beyond classical contract logistics, to optimally support partners worldwide in achieving their growth and development goals,“ says Mike Winter.
Michael Wahl has been part of the Simon Hegele Group for almost twelve years and during this time has helped shape the company's successful development as Commercial Director and most recently as CFO and Managing Director. His solid commercial expertise as well as his deep understanding of the operational processes in contract logistics make him
a strong driving force for efficient corporate governance and successful expansion of the business. In his new role, Michael Wahl will assume overall responsibility for the commercial disciplines as well as the logistics business of the Industrial, Trade and Pharma segments. Michael Wahl adds:
„The appointment as Co-CEO is, for me, not only a personal responsibility but above all an opportunity to actively shape strategic business partnerships. I am particularly looking forward to further expanding and leveraging the partnership with Nippon Express together with my excellent colleagues from Sales and Operations in order to develop innovative solutions along the entire value chain for our customers. Our employees are the pillar of our success – today and in the future. With their commitment and know-how, we create the basis to further expand and strengthen
