In an oversubscribed Series B financing round, node.energy received 15 million euros. The Frankfurt-based software company recently announced this. With the fresh capital, node.energy plans to become the leading platform for green electricity in the business customer segment in Germany. The round was led by the DeepTech & Climate Funds (DTCF) and eCAPITAL Entrepreneurial Partners; eCAPITAL has been financing technology companies in the early to growth stages since 1999. Existing investors such as the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bitstone
Capital, and BonVenture also reaffirmed their confidence in the company, according to node.energy, and participated in the financing.
For the next phase of the energy transition, node.energy has expanded its offerings. Node.energy now offers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), which are directly concluded with power plant operators, for the first time for medium-sized enterprises. Due to complex energy economic processes, this type of electricity procurement was previously only available to very large consumers according to company statements.
Bringing together
green electricity producers and consumers precisely is only the first step. According to node.energy, the software platform also handles the continuous processing of supply processes, billing, and the transparent provision of energy data for reporting and controlling purposes. The savings compared to conventional electricity contracts amount, according to the company, to an average of between ten and 25 percent of pure energy costs. Node.energy aims to support medium-sized enterprises to remain competitive and thus contribute to securing Germany's
economic location.
“We eliminate bureaucracy and complicated business processes in the supply chain of domestic green electricity.” This will make cheaper wind and solar power a locational advantage for the German economy, said Matthias Karger, founder and CEO of node.energy.
With the Series-B financing, node.energy will further invest in the development of the platform and the integration of storage solutions in the coming years. “Digitalization and the integration of storage solutions are crucial for a sustainable energy supply,”
