As daily work becomes increasingly digital, the training path has been dominated by traditional classroom instruction with paper and pencil. This is changing for the airport operator Fraport, which, according to its own statements, relies on the digital learning platform Simpleclub in vocational training.
As the operator of one of the largest international air traffic hubs, Fraport relies on well-trained specialists to ensure that the complex workflows at the airport run smoothly. From the company's view, modern training ensures that trainees are prepared for a digitally supported working
world; for example as service technicians at the airport, where digital tools are already part of everyday life.
Individual support
The content of Simpleclub is prepared in multimedia interactive learning units for the next generation. Instructors can read the trainees' individual learning levels and provide them with tailored support.
“Fraport is one of the best-known and most prestigious companies in the aviation industry. It is only logical that they set the industry standard and make their vocational training future-proof,” says Alexander Giesecke, founder and managing director of Simpleclub.
Trainees in technical professions at Fraport receive access to the digital learning platform via tablets. The theoretical content of all three training years is prepared there—as text, video, interactive animation and exam-level practice questions. In-house instruction lays the foundation for digital learning. Thereafter, independent and self-paced learning with the platform is pursued consistently and used, according to Fraport.
Time for improved support
According to the airport service provider, Simpleclub relieves instructors in theory instruction and gives them time to address the trainees' individual learning levels and to focus
on practical topics.
“Beyond the breadth and depth of topics, the AI tutor from Simpleclub offers a huge added value for us. Unlike ChatGPT and the like, it exclusively draws on content from the learning platform. In a protected environment, our trainees receive personal learning assistance,” says Robin Kröger, mechatronics trainer at Fraport.
The AI tutor was developed specifically by Simpleclub and trained on a content library of over 70,000 of its own knowledge topics, according to the provider. This can exclude data hallucinations, i.e., incorrect information, says
