The Allgäu-based software company Soloplan is presenting the new AI-based planning radar in the Transport Management System "CarLo" at the international trade fair transport logistic 2025 in Munich (June 2 to 5). The provider announced this in the run-up to the fair. According to the company, the function supports dispatchers in planning transport orders faster, more efficiently, and more intelligently. Advantages, according to Soloplan, include reduced empty kilometers, optimized vehicle utilization, and less planning effort. Another plus point is the proactive hints on possible combinations.
According to the provider, the planning radar
analyzes all open transport orders in real-time and displays the best possible combinations directly in the system. The results can be filtered by quantity and radius. In doing so, the system automatically recognizes suitable predecessor or successor tours as well as return loads.
Automatic Connections
The new client search automatically suggests customers for whom suitable return loads have been regularly transported in the past. If there is no match, freight exchanges such as Timocom or Trans.eu can be directly connected – here too, the search for return loads is automated.
After tour
planning, according to Soloplan, the planning radar supports the selection of the most suitable vehicle with an intelligent search function. Factors such as proximity to the loading location, costs per vehicle (weight, fuel consumption, wear), or the nature of the trailer (tipper, tanker, tarp, oversized) play a role here. The transport company can enter the cost components per vehicle itself. Another criterion can also be which vehicles were used for similar combinations in the past. In this way, the AI can help identify hidden optimization potentials that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.
The planning radar graphically presents the found suggestions on the map. The AI feed forms a window next to the map and checks all open transport orders in CarLo. Subsequently, all transport orders for which suggestions have been found are displayed there.
Assistance for Employees
The new AI planning radar is intended to assist dispatchers in making decisions. This could also enable new employees with less experience to schedule more easily and better. Avoiding empty kilometers and improving the utilization of loading capacities also leads to cost savings, according to Soloplan.
