With the founding of Vitaira, Andreas Thiede and Greenpeak Partners, as investors, want to start a new chapter in European pharmaceutical logistics. The company's goal is to invest in owner-managed, specialized pharmaceutical logistics service providers, in order to bring them together into a group and thus build a Europe-wide network for a secure and future-proof supply of medicines, the partners told the press in Munich on September 8.

“The

pharmaceutical supply is under high pressure in view of global supply chain risks, an aging population and increasing regulatory requirements,” said Thiede. “With Vitaira, we want to strengthen European pharmaceutical production and research and offer healthcare providers sustainable supply solutions.”

Thiede is no stranger to the pharmaceutical sector: The 55-year-old, who has served as CEO of the pharmaceutical wholesaler Gehe and as Managing Director at Fiege Healthcare Logistics, has

more than two decades of leadership positions in the healthcare sector behind him.

Vitaira pursues an investment strategy in:

  • Pharmaceutical logistics companies specialized in GDP-compliant transport, controlled substances or clinical trials,
  • Service providers along the pharmaceutical logistics value chain, for example GMP-certified value-added services.
