Samsara Inc. and Allianz UK are expanding their existing collaboration to make it easier for commercial fleet operators in the United Kingdom to access modern telematics and risk management solutions. According to Samsara, corporate customers of Allianz UK will in the future be able to use the AI-powered dashcams and the Connected Operations Platform of the company at discounted terms.
The aim of the collaboration is to increase road safety while simultaneously improving efficiency and sustainability in fleet operations. Allianz calls it an important step to respond to the growing demand from its customers for digital safety solutions.

Data instead of gut instinct
The technology from Samsara is intended to enable fleet managers to act on the
basis of real-time data rather than relying on manual checks or retrospective analyses. The camera systems automatically detect risky driving behavior and provide immediate feedback to drivers. This real-time coaching, the company says, would help prevent accidents and improve driving culture.
The platform from Samsara also offers tools for route optimization to reduce fuel consumption and idling times. At the same time, emissions are recorded, which should help fleet operators document CO2 targets and plan the switch to electric vehicles. In this way, the company addresses central challenges faced by many freight carriers today: safety, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

According to Samsara, the benefits of the technology are already evident with joint customers. The British rental and site‑services company VP Brandon Hire Station has been using the platform for some time. It said to the press that accident-related costs have fallen by around 40 percent.
