The software company Cargoclix has expanded its web-based time slot management system Slot with a new feature: With "Auto Move," it should be possible to dynamically and automatically adjust bookings – for example, when there are changes to the estimated time of arrival (ETA), the arrival of trucks, or status changes within the booking process.
Respond flexibly to the unforeseen
The aim is to reduce idle times and minimize manual planning efforts. The Auto Move feature analyzes ongoing processes in the ramp
environment in real-time, and existing bookings are automatically moved to more suitable time slots, it is stated.
In addition to the automatic reassignment of slots, predefined events can also trigger the sending of email notifications to the ramp operator or truck personnel.
"The Auto Move feature is a significant step towards self-regulating time slot management," says Victor Meier, advisory partner at Cargoclix, adding: "Our goal is to create an infrastructure that flexibly adapts to unforeseen events and measurably improves processes for all
parties involved in the supply chain."
For the entire logistics chain
The new feature is directed at various logistics stakeholders: Carriers and logistics service providers should benefit from shorter waiting times and better synchronization with actual arrival times.
According to the provider, ramp managers, on the other hand, should be able to use resources more efficiently and reduce manual coordination efforts.
Moreover, Auto Move should also bring advantages for administrators of large logistics sites through an optimization of booking management. Additionally, the
increased transparency also improves planning capability for customers and supply chain partners.
Configuration options
The new feature can be activated via the administration area in the module "My Cargoclix > Timeslots." Once the ETA option is enabled, various configuration options are possible – including setting trigger events, target ramps, and time intervals for reassignment.
The company aims, according to its own statements, to make complex logistical processes smarter and more responsive – thus contributing to more efficiency and resilience in transport logistics.
