General Motors (GME) has commissioned Ceva Logistics to deliver the fully electric Cadillac models in Germany and France. The two companies signed a three-year contract for the preparation and delivery of new vehicles to customers in both countries.
From Zeebrugge on, the journey continues
The vehicles arrive at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. From there, Ceva is to transport them to one of its two dedicated logistics centers for finished vehicles in Neuss or
Nanteuil-le-Haudouin (France).
There, the logistics company conducts vehicle inspections, accessory installations and registration processes. Once these processes are completed, Ceva arranges the delivery of each vehicle directly to the doorstep — to private individuals as well as to businesses — in accordance with GME's instructions.
Phygital solution
According to its own statements, the service provider aims to further expand its services to offer more agile, digital, more personalized and more efficient logistics solutions.
The
direct delivery to the customer agreed with GME is one of the so-called "phygital" solutions, in which physical logistics services are combined with digital logistics services.
This is intended to enable a seamless home delivery experience. The service includes live tracking of the delivery order, home delivery by car transporter or driver service, and a customer-satisfaction assessment after delivery.
Cooperation partners
The two companies have reportedly worked together worldwide for decades – in both
upstream logistics (management of the delivery of automotive parts) and downstream logistics for the distribution of finished vehicles.
Since the summer of 2024, GME has also been using Ceva's specialist transport services for transporting vehicles for press events or promotional campaigns in France, Germany and Sweden. For example, Ceva was responsible for the delivery of vehicles for the Paris Motor Show, the Berlin Art Week and the opening of the Cadillac Europe dealerships in
