According to its own statements, Kögel wants to focus on the development and production of trailer solutions. In the future, TIP will take over the rental of vehicles from the Kögel-Rent fleet, as announced by the manufacturer.
As of August 1, 2025, the Kögel-Rent business area will be integrated into TIP Trailer Services Germany GmbH, which specializes in rental, leasing, and commercial vehicle services.
Added value for
both sides
The collaboration is intended to complement the services offered by both companies: TIP thus expands its rental portfolio, while Kögel strengthens its focus on its core business.
The manufacturer’s customers should continue to benefit from the full Kögel vehicle portfolio. In the future, this can also be flexibly rented across Europe via the TIP network if needed, for example, to cover seasonal demand peaks.
According
to reports, TIP’s European service network with corresponding maintenance and repair infrastructure is intended to ensure the maximum availability of rental vehicles.
Strengthen market presence
"The collaboration with TIP is an important strategic step for us to further strengthen our position in the European market," emphasizes Thore Bakker, CSO of Kögel Trailer GmbH. "Our customers gain access to one of the most powerful rental and service networks
in Europe, while at the same time we are specifically expanding the visibility and reach of the Kögel brand."
With this step, Kögel wants to strategically realign itself and focus more on the development of digital services around the trailer. The market launch of the Kögel Cool Liteshell, presented at the IAA 2024, should also be promoted. Another focus: optimizing the vehicle fleet in terms of sustainability
