"Giants Among Giants" was the motto of a vehicle handover to the Spanish transport company Autónomos Manchegos Agrupados (A.M.A.).
A total of 43 Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 LS ProCabin are to be deployed for the company based in Campo de Criptana, about 110 kilometers southeast of Toledo.
The ceremonial handover of the semitrailer trucks also took place there - in front of the windmills that became literarily famous through Don Quixote's battle against the "giants".
"In the land of giants, we
have brought together two giants. This fleet renewal is an important step for us," said Zenón Muñoz, co-owner of A.M.A..
Equipment Features
The new Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin models are distinguished by an aerodynamically optimized cab, numerous assistance systems, and OM471 engines with a top-torque function. The manufacturer claims up to three percent less fuel consumption.
The equipment of the new vehicles includes the predictive cruise control Predictive Power Control, which uses GPS data to recognize topography, curves, and speed
limits early and adjust the driving style accordingly.
The Active Brake Assist 6, the latest version of the emergency braking assistant, is also included. According to the information, obstacles and critical situations can be recognized even better - and with warning signals up to automatic full braking, pedestrians and cyclists can also be responded to.
The Active Sideguard Assist 2 is designed to provide improved support when changing lanes, overtaking, and turning in unclear situations. And the Active Drive Assist
3, in turn, actively assists with lane guidance and maintaining distance - in an emergency, it can independently bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
Also on board: The Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 with touchscreen, voice recognition, high-resolution displays, and connectivity solutions.
The Company
A.M.A. was founded in 1996 and operates a workshop and a truck parking area with space for 150 vehicles on its 35,000 square meter premises. The family-run company is active in both national and international transport.
