Approximately 31,300 people were injured in road traffic accidents in Germany in April 2025, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) according to preliminary results. This is two percent or about 800 more injured than in April 2024.

According to the information, 231 people lost their lives in road accidents in

April 2025, one more person than in the same month the previous year.

The number of accidents involving personal injury rose by about 800 to 25,000 (+ three percent). According to the Federal Statistical Office, the police registered a total of around 213,400 road traffic accidents in April 2025 - about 3,900

fewer than in the same month the previous year (- two percent).

Fatalities in Road Traffic Accidents

In the first four months of 2025, the police recorded a total of around 788,000 road traffic accidents - one percent or 10,700 fewer than in the same period the previous year.

From January to

April 2025, 766 people were killed in road traffic and 101,300 were injured. This was five fewer fatalities and roughly the same number of injured as in the same period the previous year.

The number of accidents that resulted only in property damage decreased by two percent or 11,300 to around 707,700.
