DNV and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop and test an optimized 200,000-cubic-meter LNG tanker. With the new design, the two companies aim to achieve improved operational efficiency and improved terminal compatibility compared with earlier ship designs.

The Letter of Intent was signed by Vidar Dolonen, Regional Manager for Korea and Japan at DNV,

and Ryu Hongryeul, Chief Technology Officer at HD HHI, during the Gastech trade fair in Milan. Vidar Dolonen, Regional Manager for Korea and Japan at DNV:

Suitable for more terminals

Under the framework of the agreement, DNV will carry out the design review of HD HHI's
