The association DocStop for Europeans e.V. aims to ensure medical care for truck drivers on the road. They have established a network of medical practices and contact points with truck parking spaces in many European countries. In addition to a free hotline and the website, sick truck drivers can now also use the option of a medical consultation via video call.
Collaboration with TeleDoc
For this purpose, DocStop is working with the Austrian company TeleDoc. The service is free of charge and can
rely on a network of multilingual doctors in many European countries, so that patients can speak with a doctor in their language.
"We want to further develop DocStop with this service so that drivers can have significantly better medical care on the road," explains Joachim Fehrenkötter, chairman of DocStop.
For the service, only a smartphone with internet access and the number of the DocStop hotline are required. According to the association, neither membership nor a special app is necessary.

usually available within the next hour.
The driver can confirm or decline the proposed appointment. If the driver accepts the proposed appointment, they will receive a video call from a doctor on their smartphone at the agreed time.
According to DocStop, the medical consultation service is available in 14 European languages. If a follow-up appointment with a doctor is necessary after the TeleDoc consultation, in addition to general practitioners, specialists from various medical departments are available for consultation and diagnostic discussions through the
