Gebrüder Weiss strengthens its presence in Turkey and hasacquired the majority stake in the Turkish logistics company Sienzi Lojistik, which offers customs and warehousing logistics services, in Istanbul.
The company is to remain an independent entity and in the future operate as Sienzi Lojistik – a Company of Gebrüder Weiss. At the same time, Murat Doğan should continue as managing director of Sienzi Lojistik and remain involved in the company. The takeover would then take place in January 2026, subject to approval by the competition authorities, it says. Wolfram Senger-Weiss, Chairman of the Management Board at Gebrüder Weiss.
“With the stake in Sienzi Lojistik, we expand our market presence in Turkey and
permanently integrate our partner's customs warehouse capabilities into our network. A strategic step to optimally support customers with complex supply chain requirements and to be able to offer all services directly from a single source.”
Both logisticians have been cooperating in Turkey for around ten years. Gebrüder Weiss, according to its own statements, uses the advantages of the Sienzi customs warehouse for customers in the area of import/export processing and goods handling. Mişel Yakop, Country Manager Turkey at Gebrüder Weiss:
„We can store goods here until payment of customs duties or the execution of transit procedures, and consolidate shipments from different origins. For companies with complex supply chains, the customs warehouse solution
means more flexibility, lower costs, and better planning.“
Moreover, the corporate stake strengthens the Turkish subsidiary in Istanbul as a full-service provider and plans to open up new lines of business, for example in textiles and among industrial customers. Thomas Moser, Director and Regional Head Black Sea/CIS at Gebrüder Weiss:
„Istanbul offers ideal conditions due to its geostrategic position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia to steer goods flows to diverse markets. We see great growth potential there.“
And Murat Doğan, Managing Director and Vice President of the Turkish Customs Warehouse Association, adds:
„The merger with Gebrüder Weiss, one of the world's most traditional logistics companies, strengthens our competitiveness in the
industry. Through this partnership, we can offer our customers a broader range of services and at the same time strengthen our country's role in global trade.“
