Geodis launched a new cross-border road transport service for the southern part of Africa in July 2025. According to the company, the offering is intended to facilitate the movement of goods between South Africa and ten other countries.
Connections in Ten Countries
The service connects South Africa with Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The transports operate to major cities in these countries,
including Luanda, Gaborone, Lubumbashi, Mbabane, Maseru, Blantyre, Lilongwe, Maputo, Windhoek, Lusaka, Ndola, Harare and Bulawayo.
Hub in Johannesburg
The operational hub, according to the company, is located in Johannesburg. From there, various flows of goods are organized and distributed. Geodis emphasizes that the concept includes plannable transit schedules, expandable capacities, and flexible routing options.
Target Groups and Deployment Areas
The new service targets companies that want to transport both full truckloads and partial
loads. This should make the handling of cross-border transports in the region more efficient.
Expansion of Activities in Africa
The company emphasizes that the service has been in operation for three months and that its presence in Africa is thereby further strengthened. According to its own statements, Geodis aims with the offering to support trade and economic activity in the connected countries.

we want to offer our customers a seamless flow of goods from origin to destination, supported by our regional expertise and reliable infrastructure,” said Cobus Fourie, Managing Director at Geodis in South Africa.
