HGK Logistics and Intermodal GmbH (HGK L&I) is expanding its business areas further and becomes the sole owner of both companies by acquiring DB Cargo AG's shares in the container terminals in Cologne and Düsseldorf. Markus Krämer, CEO of HGK Logistics and Intermodal GmbH:

Cologne, we will continue the previously successful and trusting collaboration with DB Cargo for sustainable, trimodal logistics solutions.”

Until now, HGK L&I and DB Intermodal Services GmbH (DBIS), a 100 percent subsidiary of DB Cargo AG, operated the two trimodal terminals on the Rhine in the two joint ventures Container Terminal GmbH (CTS) in Cologne-Niehl and Düsseldorfer Container Hafen GmbH (DCH).

DB Cargo had a majority share of 51 percent in Düsseldorf and was a minority shareholder with 22.5 percent in Cologne's

container terminal. Uwe Wedig, CEO of HGK AG:

The agreement was concluded yesterday, Monday. As a result, CTS becomes a 100 percent subsidiary of the HGK Intermodal GmbH founded

in 2023, and the shares of DCH will henceforth be 100 percent owned by CTS. The contracting parties have agreed to keep the sales prices confidential. The completion of the transaction is still subject to antitrust approvals. Dr. Sigrid Nikutta, CEO of DB Cargo AG:
