Growth strategy for Canada
The first Canadian branch is part of
a long-term relationship with a globally leading e-commerce company. In addition to growth in the United States, Canada completes the ID Logistics Group's North American network and is thus able to meet the growing needs of customers in this region as well.
New location in Ajax
The new site is located in Ajax, east of Toronto, in the Greater Toronto Area, a metropolitan region where more than 50 percent of the country's logistics space is concentrated. The region, economically dynamic and very tight in terms of space
availability, represents a strategic choice, it says. For there lie the major hubs for consumer goods and thus the most important sites for the supply chain.
The building covers an area of 70,000 square meters, has 120 loading docks, and is expected to offer a daily processing capacity of 55,000 to 75,000 units. At the same time, it has been adapted to Canada's specific climatic conditions, with snow-removal facilities, heated floors, and integrated anti-frost systems.
In collaboration with two local agencies, ID Logistics has prepared for the
recruitment of the first employees, according to its own statements. In the future, up to 300 employees are to be employed and to receive a comprehensive training program.
Growth potential in Canada
The opening of the first Canadian platform is a decisive step in ID Logistics' development strategy, the company says.
