The fleet of Rewe delivery service is expanding – 64 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter with box body are set to contribute to the expansion of electromobility in urban areas.
Charging infrastructure must not be missing
In Berlin, 40 of these chassis with box body from Mercedes-Benz Van partner Sommer and Mercedes-Benz VanSolution partner Spier have already been handed over to Rewe. At the same time, the site of the Rewe
Fulfillment Center Tempelhof was equipped with a charging infrastructure and a total of 42 charging stations. The vehicles can be charged there with up to 22 kilowatts.
Soon, another 24 eSprinter will be available at the North Rhine-Westphalian location in Neuss.

According to Clemens Bauer, Director Rewe E-Commerce, the aim is to offer customers a locally CO₂ emissions-free delivery option with the eSprinter vehicles.
For various purposes
According to the manufacturer, the eSprinter chassis, like the eSprinter panel van, is available in two lengths and with three different battery capacity sizes. The chassis would be suitable for various
body solutions - depending on customer requirements.
Fresh service box
For the Rewe delivery service, the vehicles are equipped with a 150-kW (204 hp) motor and an 81-kWh high-voltage battery.
They were manufactured in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Ludwigsfelde, and thereafter the body manufacturers Sommer and Spier took over the individual adaptation with a fresh service box. The loading volume of the bodies is just under 18 cubic
