The new Unimog U 219 is said by Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks to stand out with particularly low loading height. In conjunction with the platform from Eggers Fahrzeugbau GmbH, it achieves a loading edge height at the rear of less than 1.2 meters - the loading height is thus about 20 centimeters lower than the previous loading height of the standard Unimog U 219.
This is intended to make both loading
and unloading easier. The factory lowering of the frame height in combination with the wheel-tire combination (295/60 R22.5 or 275/70 R22.5) also contributes to this. According to the manufacturer, the maximum permissible total mass of up to ten tons is retained without restriction.
Three-Side Tipper
The floor of the platform is located at the lowest version 14 centimeters above the upper edge of the chassis frame. The platform is designed
as a three-side tipper and has an internal dimension of 2.22 meters in length and 2.1 meters in width. The side wall height and the front wall design are said to be individually adjustable.
The low concept is particularly suitable for use in construction depots and municipal work, for example when unloading equipment and materials or loading gravel, soil, sand, or gravel.
Uni-Touch
The U 219 Low is equipped with
the new Uni-Touch operating system, which aims to make the handling of attachments more efficient and comfortable, and to simplify the operation of the vehicle. Settings for work deployment can be made via a touchscreen, buttons can be individually assigned functions, or recurring processes can be saved and retrieved, according to the information provided. The optional multifunction joystick can be plugged into the preparation at the driver's seat or passenger
