The board of the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) has appointed Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Thorsten Schmidt as the chairman of the BVL's Scientific Advisory Board. Since 2008, he has held the professorship for Technical Logistics at the TU Dresden and is the president of the Scientific Society for Technical Logistics (WGTL). Schmidt has been involved in the BVL's Scientific Advisory Board for several years. He succeeds Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Furmans, who had led the Scientific Advisory Board since 2017.
The board of directors of Kühne+Nagel International AG has appointed Marcus Claesson to the management board with effect from September 1, 2025. He will assume responsibility for the group's information technology and succeed Martin Kolbe, who will retire after 20 years on the
management board in early October 2025. According to the company, Claesson has more than 25 years of experience in international IT leadership positions. He has been the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Daimler Truck AG since 2019. Previously, he was responsible for the IT Commercial Vehicles division at Daimler AG. From 2007 to 2016, he worked at Electrolux in Stockholm (Sweden), most recently as CIO of Electrolux AB and CEO of Electrolux IT Solutions AB and from 1997 to 2007 at Linde AG.

The DAF Trucks Deutschland GmbH has had a new head of the Marketing & Public Relations department since June 1, 2025. Thorsten Söth had held this position for over 13 years until May 2025. According to reports, he left the company at his own request. He was succeeded by Lisa Fiegen. She has been part of DAF Trucks Deutschland GmbH for over six years and was most recently responsible for training and development within the DAF dealer and service partner network as a Training Manager and Commercial Trainer. Fiegen has a total of
11 years of professional experience, including seven years in the commercial vehicle industry. Before joining DAF Trucks, she was responsible for the development and enhancement of dealer training as part of the product and marketing strategy at StreetScooter GmbH. In her new position, she is to further expand DAF Trucks' market position in Germany together with her team.
