On September 1, 2025, Sany announced the European market launch of the electric tractor unit e263 4x2. The project is reportedly supported by Putzmeister and backed by the Alltrucks service network.

Technical Equipment

The e263 is equipped with a 636-kWh LFP battery on an 800-volt platform. The vehicle has a curb weight of 10.9 tonnes. With a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 42 tonnes, the tractor unit achieves a range of more than 500 kilometers. In addition to a charging power of 400 kilowatts via CCS, megawatt charging technology is also planned to be available in the future.

In the drive axle, according to the manufacturer, there is an 800-volt dual-motor

with a continuous output of 420 kilowatts and a peak output of 730 kilowatts. For long-haul operation, the model features fully air-suspended axles.

Safety and Assistance Systems

Worldwide, more than 40,000 electric tractor units from the company are already in operation, according to the manufacturer. Many of the installed safety-assistance systems go beyond the legal requirements of GSR2 and aim for zero accidents and stable operation.

Kevin Eichele, Head of Product and Business Development Sany eTrucks Europe: "This market launch builds on the proven success of Sany's electric chassis 8x4 408P (Gen1) and e435 (Gen2), which, with their advanced technology, impressive total cost of ownership and reliability, set new benchmarks in Europe.

With the offering of the new 4x2 e263 and the proven 8x4 e435, Sany eTrucks, with the support of Putzmeister, provides European fleet operators with tailored solutions for a variety of applications."

Auxiliary Drives for Add-on Equipment

As customers demand efficient, reliable, and flexible solutions for emissions-free transport, Sany has developed three auxiliary drives for the e263. A separate electric motor provides 45 kilowatts of continuous power, for example for hydraulic or mechanical devices. A gearbox-driven auxiliary drive provides 210 kilowatts for tipping, walking-floor, or silo trailers. In addition, an electric PTO for direct current or alternating current is provided, which can be used, among other things, for refrigerated trailers.

Service and

Delivery

Delivery of the e263 is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026. By the end of 2026, various variants are to be available. The service network includes over 700 service workshops across Europe, as well as a spare parts warehouse in Germany managed by Putzmeister. Planned are 24/7 breakdown assistance, OTA and telematics diagnostics, and full-service contracts with terms of six to ten years.

Expansion of the Portfolio

Already in operation on the European market are the 8x4 408P chassis of the first generation and the e435 of the second generation. With the introduction of the e263, Sany aims to expand its portfolio of electric commercial vehicles in Europe.
