The Alfred Schuon Group is renewing parts of its fleet and aims to strengthen its focus on sustainable transport solutions. This year, 68 new trucks, including trailers and semi-trailers, are to be integrated into the fleet at the Haiterbach and Hungarian Veszprém locations. The new acquisitions include Mercedes-Benz Actros L with aerodynamically optimized ProCabins and two fully electric eActros 600 tractor units.

Three E-Trucks for Fixed Shuttle Tours
One of the two new eActros 600 is already in operation, and the second is to be delivered in the fall. This expands the electric fleet to three fully electric trucks, complemented by several hybrid cars. The battery-powered trucks would take on fixed shuttle tours, where the necessary charging infrastructure has
already been integrated into the logistics processes. Alexander Schuon:

It's about gaining experience and further advancing the use of sustainable transport solutions under real conditions. Many drivers are rather skeptical – it's all the more important to convince them with well-thought-out logistics concepts and excellent driving characteristics.”
Volume Vehicles in Operation
Aside from the eActros, which are not available as Megatrailers or Jumbo trailer trucks,
the new acquisitions are said to be volume vehicles. MAN Jumbo trailer trucks as well as Mercedes-Benz Actros Megatrailers and Jumbo trailer trucks would be used, some of which are equipped with carry-on forklifts and would be deployed on fixed shuttle tours and pan-European tramp traffic. Alexander Schuon:
"Our focus remains on volume transports – with different payloads, optimized total weight, and economical operating costs.”
Overall, the logistics company has a total of 250 own and 370 scheduled
